The Best Places to Eat in Cleveland
Greater Cleveland is on the rise, with a strong real-estate market, burgeoning tech industry and infusion of investment funds into the city. This has come along side cultural and diversity growth, bringing the city some of the best restaurants in the country. Here's a few you should make sure to check out.
Melt Bar and Grilled, 13463 Cedar Rd., Cleveland Heights
Melt is the quintessential Cleveland restaurant--it's been around forever. The classic grilled cheese is on the menu, but you can also get fried green tomatoes, spinach dip, or a fried-chicken and waffles sandwich. Out-of-towners always make sure to stop in at Melt, probably because the restaurant was featured on Guy Fieri's Dives, Dives, Diners and Drive-Ins, the popular Food Network television show.
Cafe Avalaun, 4640 Richmond Rd., Warrensville Heights
Cafe Avalaun is perfect for all the health-conscious eaters in Cleveland, which is swiftly becoming a very modern city. The little restaurant is 100% gluten-free, and is able to cater to every type of allergy--whether nut-free, berry-free, or non-dairy, Cafe Avalaun has food--and pastries--for you. The cafe is known for their gluten-free, non-dairy cream puffs, which are even better than the real deal.
Bluestar Cafe at Eton, 28699 Chagrin Blvd., Woodmere
Bluestar Cafe is a treat for Cleveland's historic and tight-knit Jewish community, offering Kosher-certified paninis, soups, salads and personal pizzas. However, Bluestar is jam-packed with people of all religions--the food is just that good. The atmosphere is pleasant, with great service and pretty decor right in the middle of Eton mall. It is conveniently located near Trader Joe's and Barnes and Noble, making Bluestar a great choice for a family night out.
